It's now Wednesday evening, June 24th. We leave on Sunday evening, June 28th. Between now and then, I have to pack, prepare the teaching materrials I will be presenting on the trip, etc., etc., etc. My main concern right now is that the dental issue that I've been contending with doesn't "blow up" (in the words of my endodontist) either before or after my trip!!!

A Postscript:  It certainly did blow up!!!

I leave in one week on the JCRC-sponsored clergy trip to Israel. This is the first time I'll be travelling with Christian clergy to Israel, something I've dreamed of doing for years. I'm very much looking forward to it.

Thoughts on the Eve of Departure

Tomorrow I leave for Israel with a group from my congregation. Given how hectic the last few days have been, it's hard to believe that within a day or so I will once again be back in Israel, which is such a fascinating, lively, engaging place for me. I am so much looking forward to helping my congregants, many of whom have never been there, experience the place. Stay tuned!
